PPrivacy MCP

Connect your AI assistant

Privacy MCP works with any assistant that supports remote MCP connectors. The steps are nearly identical: paste one address, sign in, and approve. Pick your assistant below.

Before you start

  1. 1Create your account and an organization.
  2. 2On the dashboard, enter your OneTrust host, client ID and client secret. Create a dedicated OneTrust API client for this.
  3. 3Give that API client the permissions your workflows need. Whatever you grant is the most any assistant can do. You can also turn on read-only mode later if you want to limit an organization or a person.
  4. 4Invite your team from the dashboard (Manage team). Each person gets a one-time link, and you choose whether they can make changes or are read-only.

Claude

Requirements

  • A Claude plan that supports custom connectors.
  • On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner may need to allow custom connectors first.

Steps

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Give it a name (for example Privacy MCP) and paste the connector address from above.
  4. Click Add, then Connect. A sign-in window opens.
  5. Sign in, choose your organization, and click Allow access.
  6. Start a chat, enable the connector from the tools menu, and ask a question.
ChatGPT

Requirements

  • A paid ChatGPT plan with Developer Mode available.
  • On a workspace plan, an admin can disable Developer Mode — ask them to enable it if you don't see it.

Steps

  1. Open Settings, find Connectors (or Apps), and turn on Developer mode under Advanced.
  2. Choose Create (add a custom connector).
  3. Enter a name, paste the connector address from above as the MCP server URL, and set authentication to OAuth.
  4. Tick the box confirming you trust the connector, then click Create.
  5. Click Connect when prompted. Sign in, choose your organization, and click Allow access.
  6. In a new chat, turn the connector on from the tools menu. ChatGPT asks you to confirm actions that change data.

OpenAI renames menus often. If you don't see these names, look for “custom connector” or “add MCP server”.

Gemini

Requirements

  • Use the Gemini web app on a computer (gemini.google.com). It then also works in the mobile app.
  • Currently for personal Google accounts, 18 or older, in the US, in English, with Keep Activity turned on. Work and school accounts aren't supported yet.

Steps

  1. Go to gemini.google.com and open Settings, then Connected Apps.
  2. Under Custom apps, choose Add a custom app.
  3. Paste the connector address from above and click Next.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps. Sign in, choose your organization, and click Allow access.
  5. In a chat, type @ and select the app to use it. Gemini asks you to confirm actions that change data.

Google also offers admin-managed connections in Gemini Enterprise. See Google's documentation for that route.

Using another assistant?

Any client that can add a remote MCP server over HTTPS with OAuth will work: add the connector address, choose OAuth, and sign in when prompted.

Troubleshooting

  • “Subscription is suspended / trial used”: your organization's plan is inactive or the 25 free calls are used. Subscribe from the dashboard.
  • Sign-in window says the request expired: start the connection again from your assistant.
  • Results are slow or incomplete: OneTrust applies its own API rate limits to your tenant, independent of Privacy MCP. Try again in a moment.
  • Write actions are missing: your organization, plan or connection is in read-only mode.
  • Menu names don't match: assistants rename settings often. Look for “custom connector”, “custom app” or “add MCP server”.
